Oh I have been missing blogging. I been so busy reading other folks stuff having been writing my own. So starting today I am going to commit to my own dang writing.

Let's get back together

Wow I haven't posted in a while. Just lazy and a little burnt out. But I have had plenty that I have wanted to talk about. I've been reading some good books lately and that has made me happy. Read the new Walter Mosley The Long Fall it was great. Read a two books by two new authors. The first was The Help by Kathryn Stockett which I had to put down for a minute but I was able to finish and not be pissed off about and able to say that I enjoyed it. The Next Thing by Deidre Berry I really, really liked. She will be on the 2010 booklist because it is that good. I had surgery for my fibroids in March and I am starting to feel back to normal. I did not realise how bad I felt until now. I now have to start exercising again on a regular basis. So I can continue on my weight loss journey. I also think I am close to finding a new church home. I am trying to be cautious and not jump in like I did before. Praying because I need to go back to church.

Happy New Year, Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone. Happy New Year!!! December 31st is our wedding anniversary and in honor of the day I found a link of Lalah Hathaway's version of Forever, For Always For Love. That is the song we danced to at our wedding reception at midnight.

Yea!!! My Job is safe Woo hoo!!!!

Um yeah right but they are cutting library budgets all over even in places that are'nt as bad off as Michigan. Just as the need increases. Real talk y'all we all need to keep our resumes updated.

This film clip is just too funny to me. My hubby is very good with gifts so no problems there but I had an ex-boyfriend that gave me a veggie chopper for Christmas and was wondering why I was pissed off. He was like, but you like to cook. Hmph that why his ass is still by himself now. Hat tip to traveldiva for posting this clip on her blog.

Dwight is getting his own show!!!

I know, I know I have a master's degree. I work in a library. I'm supposed to watch the history channel and pbs when I do look at tv and only listen to NPR and classical music on the radio. Well nope I like stupid stuff just as much or sometimes more than the next person. I am looking forward to the next season of 24, I am sad that Dirty,Sexy, Money got canceled, my favorite songs on the radio are Magic by Robin Thicke and I need you by Jasmine Sullivan. So to find out that Dwight the Housewives of Atlanta is getting his own show is great news to me

An Important Day: August 28, 2008

Barak Obama accepts the nomination of the Democratic party in Denver, Co. Yesterday I laid across my mother's hospital bed and saw the roll call vote at the convention, with both my parents. I am so glad that I was able to be with both of them on a historic day.... a historic week. I am so glad that they lived to see this. Hell I'm glad I lived to see it. Shout out to Icebergslim over at Daily Kos for the wonderful, wonderful photos!!!

Obama Hustle

I'm from Detroit and yes we have a hustle for everything!!!! But I ain't mad, in fact gone ladies work it out!!!!

I've been working out and eating better...

So do you see a change. I do. I am posting this because I hurt my knee while I was working out and I have not been as deligent as I was before with working out. I would like to be down to a 16 or a 14 by the end of the year . I am wearing an 18 now, I was wearing a 22 heading quickly too a 24.

So second photo was taken on December 31, 2007 our 3rd wedding anniversary and the first photo was taken on July 26, 2008 at a friend's birthday party. As you see I got my hair cut off and am thinking about going natural. Also been working on skin care and trying to put on a little bit of makeup every day. I think I even look younger!!!
